How it works
What Tapsign actually does.
The token that comes back is issued for the website’s own Apple Services ID, so the site’s backend accepts it unchanged. Tapsign never uses an identity of its own.

Intercept
The site opens appleid.apple.com/auth/authorize. The extension catches that navigation in the same tab or popup.

Hand to macOS
A small helper app loads the exact same URL where WebKit can offer the system sheet: Touch ID, account pre-filled.

Capture
Apple’s code, id_token and state are read the instant they come back, before any page loads them.

Replay
The extension delivers them to the site exactly as Apple would have — form POST, redirect, or the JS SDK callback.
Tapsign never sees your password.
The sign-in itself happens in macOS, the same way it does in Safari. Tapsign only carries what Apple issues for that website, the one-time code and the identity token, from the system sheet back to the tab that asked for it. It is held in memory just long enough to hand over, never written to disk, never logged. The website still checks everything it checks today, and Tapsign has no account, server or identity of its own in the middle.
